Comic 002: The Hall of Competing Claims

  1. Wei Chen lies on his back on the stone floor of an enormous, dim hall lined with endless shelves and filing cabinets.
    Wherever this was, it had been built to make people wait.
  2. Wei Chen, seen from behind, faces green lanterns over an iron gate on the left, white marble columns on the right, and a dark dock with an empty boat ahead, under faint glowing cables.
    Left. Right. Ahead. And something humming overhead.
  3. Gold text reading 'Error: soul jurisdiction conflict. Claimants detected: 3. Status: unassigned.' floats beside Wei Chen, who holds up three fingers.
    "Three detected."
  4. A woman in black and crimson robes holding an unrolled scroll regards Wei Chen without expression under green lantern light.
    "I'm Canadian." / "That is not a jurisdiction."
