What this site stores

The reader stores reading position, theme, font, and display preferences locally in your browser. This information remains on your device unless you clear it.

Usage analytics

This site measures basic usage so the author can understand what readers actually use and improve the reading and purchase experience. The first-party event payload can include page path, chapter number, reading milestones, purchase-intent clicks, referral/UTM source, and a random anonymous browser-session identifier stored in sessionStorage. The event payload does not include your email address, name, or payment-card details. Vercel also provides the hosting and Web Analytics infrastructure and may process ordinary network and device information under its own privacy terms.

Contact information

If you email the author, join the reader list by sending the pre-addressed email, or request purchase access, the information you provide is used only to answer the request, provide requested updates or access, and keep necessary transaction or support records.

Payments

Payments, when enabled, are processed by Gumroad as the checkout provider and Merchant of Record. This site does not receive or store your full card number. Gumroad may collect identity, payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and transaction information under its own privacy policy.

Sharing and retention

Personal information is not sold. It may be shared only with service providers needed to operate the site, process a purchase, prevent fraud, comply with law, or resolve a support request. Records are retained only as long as reasonably required for those purposes.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information held directly by the author, subject to legal and accounting requirements, by contacting jamescheng@nogodownsme.com.
